Eyewitness Accounts
With regard to my previous post on racial confrontations in Paris, here are some comments from the "revolutionary/anarchists", that is the white victims. Compare their comments with the official statement of their group, the CNT. They sound almost conservative, and certainly aware of the difference between fighting fair and not. The article from which these are drawn points out that the extreme-left groups were the prime target of the blacks. This is hard to explain, except for the fact that to the blacks, these guys looked like "skinheads".
- I arrived just as the thugs began to attack the remaining marchers from the CNT, apparently taking them for skinheads. When they put up a mild resistance, suddenly hundreds of guys descended on them. They threw stones, and they attacked fifteen to one...
- I have no comment to make about this and the attacks fifteen against one, just for a camera or a cell phone, sometimes for nothing. That's what they call courage.
- Some questions deserve to be raised about these thugs born to make trouble at any cost, who respect nothing, nobody, who attack just for the sake of attacking without discrimination...No way will I find extenuating circumstances, no way will I legitimize their actions; these acts are totally inxcusable.
- These guys for the most part have no ideology. They are light years away from us, lured only by easy money...Far be it from me to generalize, but that is what emerges from what I saw yesterday...
- ...not being a Parisian, I was stunned by their numbers, I never dreamed there were that many of them...even worse when, repeatedly, one guy is beaten up by 30...
- Then I was myself a victim, just like that, they beat me up because of my appearance and the nice camera and cell phone. We are fighting for these young people, they are complete cowards, as someone said. Often they are in gangs, and you can't fight back without getting throttled!
