A Letter to Philippe de Villiers

This letter was sent to Philippe de Villiers, President of the MPF party of patriots, from the UPJF, the Union of Jewish Managers and Professionals of France, on February 27, 2006, the day after the now infamous demonstration. The "SOS" referred to is probably SOS Racisme, another dubious civil rights group, leftist in its ideology and pro-Muslim in its acts.

Mr. President,

This letter is to inform you that we wish to separate ourselves completely from the actions of the militants from SOS (a front for the Socialist Party), that led to your being removed, on Sunday February 26, from the demonstration against racism and anti-Semitism, and in honor of Ilan Halimi, who was savagely murdered.

We believe that your participation was a sign of friendship and fraternity and that your presence was entirely welcome.

We must not be mistaken on who our enemies are at a moment in time when France is facing alarming perils. And though we do not always share the same positions, we can unite in a common struggle.

We deeply regret this scandalous incident which, I want to make clear, is condemned by an immense part of the Jewish community.

Yours very sincerely,

Claude Barouch
