The Choice Is Yours

This cartoon from Vox Galliae says:

Be Dutch, Italian, French, Belgian, German, Swedish, British...the choice is yours!

I'm not sure why Ms. Europa is sporting a crown. Wouldn't a dunce's cap be better? Or is she behaving patronizingly, in the manner of a "caring" queen?
