Update - Douste Has a Revelation

After shaking hands with the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs in Beirut a few days ago and extolling the virtues of Iranian civilization, Philippe Douste-Blazy seems to have had an epiphany on the road to Damascus. Now he is saying that he condemns totally the remark by Iranian president Ahmadinejad that the only solution to the conflict is the destruction of the state of Israel:

"Not only am I sorry, but it's clearly a very serious matter for the international community, it would mean the isolation of Iran and that is something we cannot accept...I will do everything, up to the last minute, until August 22 (date for Iran's decision on the nuclear agreement). We must say to Iran 'think on this, stay in the international community, don't isolate yourself'. That is my role as Foreign Minister...If they refuse, it will be catastrophic..."

One can only blink in amazement or cringe in shame at the infantile level on which he seems to be operating. Imagine saying to a tyrant, "Please be good. Think before you act. We want you to be our friend." Incroyable!
