600,000 Illegals Per Year?

The above images are posted at Islamisation, the website of Joachim Véliocras, who keeps a close watch on the Islamization of France.
The article in question is from the paper edition of France-Soir dated January 28, 2006. Even though it is two years old, it expresses a situation that is still of the greatest urgency in France. The headline reads: "Catastrophe. 600,000 illegals arrive each year in France." The interviewee is Georges Orfily, senator from French Guiana who states:
"Continental France alone receives 200,000 immigrants every year."
(Note: According to Véliocras, this refers to legal immigrants, 7% of whom come to work, the others come on the basis of family reunification.)
"We can estimate the number of persons who enter French territory illegally at 600,000. Combining all nationalities, there are, in addition 65,000 people who request asylum each year. (...) They must be sent back! Eventually, if nothing is done, this could create a profound cultural imbalance in which the communities run the risk of 'colliding with each other' to put it in mild terms..."
He said this in 2006. If we add the legals and illegals we get 800,000 immigrants. If this was repeated in 2007, then in a two year period there could have been 1,600,000 newcomers, of whom 1,200,000 were ILLEGAL!
Tuesday at his press conference President Sarkozy defended his policy of expulsions, a policy that calls for 25,000 expulsions per year. Even if the above figures are 50% accurate, there would be no way to make a dent in the number of immigrants in France at that rate.
The news item above to the left, also from France-Soir, was penned by journalist Serge Faubert. It reads:
Here is flagrant proof that the arsenal of measures taken in the course of the past twenty years is totally non-operational. Right and Left have both proven themselves incapable of eradicating this influx. And yet it must be stopped. France has nothing more to offer these wretched people. Unless it be a succession of pain and sorrows.
If we no longer want new ghettoes to form, if we want to eradicate the rampant growth of ethnic enclaves from the country, we must stop being ashamed of fighting against illegal immigration. Let us not be afraid to say it. It is not being xenophobic, it is not being racist, it is not being cold or chauvinistic to return to their homelands those who were not invited to stay in our country.
Joachim Véliocras ends with the following considerations:
The propaganda from the Ministry of the Interior lowers the figure of illegal arrivals to 100,000... a hypothesis aimed at reassuring the voters, but still much higher than the expulsion rate desired by Nicolas Sarkozy. By definition, calculating illegal immigration precisely is impossible, but one does not need to know how to read tea leaves to detect an order of magnitude: just the sight of our streets, literally colonized, should be enough to draw a few conclusions about the record of UMPS.
A reminder that UMPS ironically refers to the combined UMP and PS parties (Sarkozy's Union for a Popular Movement and the Socialist Party), considered as one and the same by the nationalists.

A bit off-topic, but it is ironic to see Patrick Sebastien in the upper right corner, who supposedly said that he wants a France métissée. A female family member of mine was heartbroken, seeing him as representing the good old days, but I am not surprised by anyone in show business anymore, only if they express "right-of-center" sentiments.
As to the post, the number is overwhelming to even put a dent in, as you say. Revoking the droit de sol is vital, as for example in Guyanne alone, it attracts women to come across the border from Surinam to have their babies born on French soil.
