Delanoë Bans Mass
This brief item from François Desouche:
For 20 years, the annual pilgrimage between Chartres and Paris has closed with the traditional Mass in a large square in front of the Sacré-Coeur church in Montmartre.
This year, using as a pretext the Williamson affair, Bertrand Delanoë, mayor of Paris, forbade the use of this square. His reason? The risk of a public disturbance.
No, you're not dreaming. The mayor of Paris, who gives lessons in tolerance to the whole planet, who allows and even subsidizes the expression of all types of deviant behavior, forbids Catholics to celebrate Mass. At a loss, the organizers had to quickly find a replacement. The prefecture granted them the use of place Vauban for the Mass.
This is surreal. First, as FDS says, this gay, socialist mayor has allowed paganism and left-wing activism to flourish freely. But more than that, what does the Williamson affair have to do with any of this? It has nothing to do with the pilgrimage, the Mass, or the 20-year old event that so many Catholics look forward to as a reprieve from that very paganism (maybe THAT'S it).
Since it is now Tuesday in Paris, and the event is over, I can only say I hope everybody who could attend turned out.
