Ads From the Good Old Days

Here is a full and fascinating web page of vintage ads that would never see the light of day in our times. Some of them are indeed reviling, such as the racist ads for soap. Some are weird - Van Heusen really made ugly ties. Most of them are demeaning to women. A few are in French, like the one above from Ricard, a famous liqueur. It says that Ricard can be found on all trains. The engineers who need all their faculties immediately adopted it!

Hello, Tiberge!
Yeah, those are hilarious, and, at the same time, interesting in what they show about cultural shift.
Note that the "Une femme, une pipe, un pull" french ad is somewhat infamous, in its WTF??? value (its slogan can just as easily read "a woman, a BJ, a pull-over" if you have an even very slightly dirty mind, this, plus the ad visual itself, I mean, come on...).
The 70's were a strange time, it seems.
Best regards,
Kevin the hapless french guy
I find this time period fascinating, as I do the tv series Mad Men for some reason. Definitely not pc!
