Marine Le Pen Opposed to Gay Marriage

Marine Le Pen is still making news, and will continue to do so for the next 17 months. Here are snippets from a conversation she had on RTL radio with moderator Christophe Hondelatte:
"I am totally opposed" to gay marriage and "I think that only a minority are for it anyway."
The PaCS (civil union) "did not correspond to a need".
The new president of the FN criticized "this sort of proselytizing, gay pride with its parades which are, as a general rule, provocations against other people, notably Catholics".
"I find it scandalous that during the gay pride parades there are people who dress up as nuns and trample on the respect one should have with regard to other religions. And they only do it with regard to the Catholic religion anyway (...)" she declared.
Those who understand French can hear a lot more by going to RTL (link above) where there are audio programs of the interview. Among other things she says clearly that there should be a moratorium on all immigration. And she defends her father against the caricatures of him and the Front National that have been generated over the years by the media.
However, she has made some rather sweeping statements about the need to consider all Frenchmen as citizens, not as members of communities (this would have to include the ethnic French community), and about laïcité as a basic principle of the Republic. However, I'll have more on this in the coming days.

I am so glad she has finally said what we all wanted to hear! This is at least a first step in the right direction.
Now, what about abortion, euthanasia, and LEGAL immigration which is THE problem ; some "bisounours" are stupid enough to protest only against illegal immigration....
(I leave it to you to give an English equivalent for bisounours!)
Wrong. What's a majority to tell a small group of people what is right or wrong for the small group if it doesn't affect the majority? That doesn't make sense. Even if the majority doesn't agree with it, it doesn't mean that affects them. The legality of same-sex unions/marriages affect the gays/lesbians--not straight people so...how is this fair? She needs to be inclusive...not exclusive. Boo! Thumbs down!
@ moderate and fair
OK. You don't agree. But when you say it doesn't affect the majority you are wrong. It has a devastating impact on the mores of society because it redefines marriage to include homosexuals. This has never been done before and is not in keeping with either Judaism or Christianity. It is not acceptable to Islam either, (aside from the fact that Islam itself is not acceptable to the West).
The law of nature is always Male and Female. Only two people of the opposite sex marry. To suddenly and irresponsibly bow down to a vociferous and hostile minority whose only goal is to deliberately destroy the foundations of marriage would be an act of extreme cowardice and violence to the traditions of our civilization.
Gays can do anything they like in their bedroom. No one cares. But they cannot dictate to the State to violate the most basic law of nature and of our survival, i.e., the nuclear family consisting of a father and a mother. Gays, like other "progressives", Socialists, and liberals have been seeking the destruction of the family for decades, whether it is through sexual promiscuity, single-parent households, working parents who are never home to care for their children, abortion on demand paid for by the tax-payer, and ultimately through the notions of gay marriage and gay parenthood.
I only hope Marine sticks to her guns.
@ zazie
Yes, and thankfully the Senate has just pulled back its law to permit euthanasia; glad at least Fillon was opposed to it! I'm afraid Marine is for IVG, isn't she?
It is not acceptable to Islam either, (aside from the fact that Islam itself is not acceptable to the West).
islam is a cult of pedophiles and terrorists.
Thank goodness gracious for Marine! This gives me a bit of hope for the National Front.
Oh, and Moderate: as a despondent Bay Stater, take my word for it: sodomite parades and pride make life miserable for the sane remnant!
Gay marriage has the completely non-romantic function of giving homosexual couples a legal status in tax questions for instance. Heritage is another example. Since we all agree that gay people are in fact and for good gay, let's let them live their lives as citizens like everybody else and on the same terms. I mean, they do pay taxes. Arguments against that are all religious and therefore irrelevant. (we are not under sharia).
If gay prides sport people dressed as catholic nuns, I presume that is because the catholic church has insistingly tried to hamper the lives of gay people. Jesus told you to forgive and throw the first stone only if you are free of sin. Good advice.

why was my comment censored?
@ anonymous
Your comment was originally censored because I have stopped posting most one-liners that merely insult someone or something without adding anything of interest to the article. If I finally posted it it was just to avoid an argument at a moment when I was having computer problems. Please try to control this urge you have (and it may be others, since there are so many "anonymouses") to spit out one-line cracks that we have heard a million times over and that we are all aware of.
And if I withhold future comments similar to this one and the many you have sent over many months, please don't ask why.
If she defends the gays rights, would be more popular because defens the West.
Workers right
Women rights
West rights!

What a bunch of hateful people you all are
