No hablamos inglés
How often have we heard stories of French soccer teams being booed by fans rooting for Algeria or some other non-European country in the process of slowly taking over the West? How often has the Algerian flag been hoisted at soccer games? How often has the Marseillaise been booed?
How often have I said "France is not alone in this." America is in the same boat, and has probably been there longer than France.
The American soccer team was booed by Mexican fans in Los Angeles. Read this.

Oh..that's a lot of Spanish speaking areas
Remember arriving in Miami, from Europe, in the early 80-ies. Happy to have the chance to speak English (as my first foreign language) with Americans.
But..in the shops, at the mall, they were speaking Spanish. What a surprise! Had never imagined. Strange feeling of almost being cheated on
In my mind, the US equalled English language, only with the American accent.
Is there also a map showing where - in the US - they speak Arabic, Somali, etc?
Another unpleasant aspect of today's USA that French TVaddicts will never be shown.....They can only see "fascist" border guards chasing nice and peaceful poor Mexicans back to their lives of misery in Mexico, when the "Yankees" are rolling in money.....
Europeans know no more about the real state of affairs in the USA than the average American knows about the plight of Europe ; that is why you are NOT useless, Tiberge, why your work is so important....
I second zazie's comment - well said!
Anon,
Dearbornistan is the Arabic-speaking capital of America, but there are Arabic speakers all over. I believe there are many in Virginia as well. Minneapolis, Portland and Lewiston, ME are places to avoid if you don't want to encounter Somalis. And anywhere there is a government welfare office or big business meat packing plant, they won't be far away either!
