Tristane To Confront DSK

Here's the latest English-language article from the Daily Mail on Tristane Banon's crusade to reform the French justice system regarding rape cases. According to the article she may come face to face with Dominique Strauss-Kahn as early as this week.

The readers' comments are generally hostile towards her.

I don't know who they are. I have no way of knowing. They may be just Brits who don't like her. It was a bit odd though to see so many hostile comments. She will have a difficult time proving anything, and many French are also saying she is just doing this for the publicity.

Just a reminder - she did not bring suit at the time of the encounter because she was dissuaded from doing so by her mother and by higher-ups in the Socialist Party.

She cannot prove a rape because there was no rape. She has to try to prove an "attempted rape". She has passed the statute of limitations for "sexual assault".

Actually for me as a Frenchman, the pic is a bad play on words on Strauss-Khan's wife, Anne Sinclair, "Pour moi c'est(almost sounds like saint/sein/sin) clair(it's sure, it's obvious)Dégage ! (move away!)

Shouldn't "dégage" be written "dégagez" if the command is being given to two persons?

But if the command is being given to just one person - DSK - then "Sinclair" appears to be his last name, i.e., he is Mr. DSK Sinclair.

"Sein clair" is an interesting thought. "Saint Clair" would be more ironic.

But I really like Tristane's name - the "sad one". As if she had been predestined to unhappy events.
