A Name Change for the FN?
According to a Muslim website, Biladi, Marine Le Pen may consider changing the name of the Front National after the presidential election. My opinion: a bad idea. I don't know why she would do that. The idea seems to be to form a coalition with other pro-sovereignty parties for the legislative elections which will follow soon after the presidential. In other words, a brand new party, consisting primarily of the Front National plus what? "Pour la France", the party of Carl Lang? "Debout la Republique", the party of Nicolas Dupont-Aignan? "Mouvement pour la France", the party of Philippe de Villiers? They are all rather small parties.
If she does pick a new name, let's hope it's specific and not some nebulous conglomeration of words like "union for a popular movement" or "rally for the Republic" or "union for a democratic Republic", etc… I intensely dislike names that do not give a clear indication of the party's purpose. "National Front" is a great name. Keep it.
The same Muslim website indicates that 80% of Muslims intend to vote for François Hollande.
