GoV has been removed!

The website Gates of Vienna has been removed. I am receiving e-mails warning me that GalliaWatch may be next, and that I should try to save the blog on an external hard drive.

I do have an external hard drive - from my old computer. It was retrieved when the computer crashed a year or so ago.

Does anyone know if an entire blog can be "migrated" to an external device, and if so, how? I have plenty of USB cables.

Let me know via e-mail if you learn anything about GoV.

I hope I am mistaken : do you mean GoV has been censored, and Galliawatch might be censored ? Who decides that a site must be "removed"?

@ zazie,

Sorry about the delay in answering your comment. I tried to send a comment via my iPhone but I hit a wrong button.

We don't yet know if it is a technical problem or censorship. Google responds to complaints. They automatically remove a blog that has engendered complaints.

What I should do is try to find a way to save the blog on an external drive or in some other way. A reader has just informed me about "SuckerSite" that saves any blog. I will look into it.

Don't worry. These things usually work out. With all the uproar in France it would not surprise me if someone takes advantage of us. François Desouche is always "en panne."

I can always start a new blog at WordPress or some other host, and I can always communicate with readers via e-mail if necessary. The question for me revolves more around the French sites themselves. If they disappear there's nothing I can do.

Yes, I'm wondering the same thing as Zazie. If RL and FDS are still standing, then so should GalliaWatch, which is only reporting events in France and Europe. Is it Google that decides, because it is Blogger?

To all,

I got the name wrong - It's SiteSucker. It's a type of software that saves any blog. For now I am still learning about it. One problem is that it may save ALL links. This will result in a huge download. All I really want to save are the articles, so that I have reference points. I have all photos in my files. As for YouTube - what's the point? It usually disappears anyway. There have been a few very significant articles at GalliaWatch that I would like to save in duplicate, but many articles are just passing events.

People tell me to move to WordPress, but WP has been a problem for bloggers in the past too. Google on the whole has been OK, but if events in the world heat up, you can be sure we will have trouble.

I have to go out now unfortunately. I'll try to have more info tonight.

@ dauphin,

I still don't know why GoV is down. But 1389Blog is also having problems. Possibly there are complaints about "anti-jihad" blogs. This has happened many times in the past with various blogs.

As I said, Google responds to complaints and gives priority to the person complaining. It's really totalitarian.

In the USA Michelle Bachmann, who was the only decent Republican contender for the White House, and who got nowhere, has some kind of petition against jihad. And they are after her! This could be the source of the problem.

GoV is up and running again. Looks at first like it was a just a technical hitch but we will never know – there was a lot of C-J static resonating on this one so perhaps there was a change of mind and direction on the part of Google/Blogger– if there were either in the first place.

Never-the-less it is perhaps a seminal lesson on why back-up, and blogosphere unity, is so important.

GOV is back, and this is worth reading

http://gatesofvienna.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/the-bee-and-lamb-part-9-continued.html

The article above is right in stating that Muslims are not to blame. I have maintained this for decades. The fault lies not with Islam or Muslims. Anyone with the slightest notions of historical record would know that inviting Muslims to come to the West is a surefire recipe for disaster. In fact, Muslims have made it abundantly clear by spoken and written word, and by their actions, what their intent is.

It is our idiot socialist/marxist/proggresivist utopia seeking rulers who are leading us to the killing fields like lambs to the slaughter.

I agree. We have to hold Muslims accountable for their behavior. If they violate Western law, if they kill in the name of jihad, they have to be held accountable. But, as you say, the real guilty parties are the enablers, those who re-defined tolerance to mean self-destruction, those who felt it their duty to indoctrinate their people with a steady stream of toxic propaganda and to treat them as disobedient children whenever there was a healthy patriotic response.

In a great civilization with deep historic roots, it is necessary to prevent a conquering people that worships a different God from entering into the land. This is where Western statesmen needed to be clear: we are tolerant of differences within certain clear limitations. But we cannot allow people of radically different views and beliefs to take over our own civilization. On this point the Western leaders failed miserably. Either they were too uneducated to know how to protect their people, or they deliberately wanted to destroy a civilization they did not have the talent to build. I feel it is the latter.

So the Western leaders are guilty. And "they deliberately wanted to destroy [western] civilization".

And since they brainwashed most of their population (which has become decadent and un-American, uh I mean un-European, according to tiberge, by the way) and control police, army, media, the only way to wipe them out, to stop the impending destruction of Western civilization, is to take them over by force (notice how you have never shown any other way).

So Breivik was right, in both the diagnosis and the prescription.

And your rejection of Breivik is an hypocritical Public Relations trick.

And it would be a shame of everybody not being able to read galliawatch and gatesofvienna, and check the insanities they include.

But of course gatesofvienna would not be censored by its host blogspot if it were not hosted by blogspot, neither it could be censored by theplanet.com if it were not hosted by theplanet.com.

Your comments are not an acceptable description of what I say. Any civilization worthy of the name has to defend itself against its enemies. Islam is and has always been a sworn enemy of the West because it regards the West as the Infidel. I do not blame Islam for being what it is, I blame the leaders of the West for not being educated enough or courageous enough to defend their people. I do no see what your problem is with this position. You are pro-Muslim. You may be a Muslim. Naturally from your point of view, I am the Infidel, Gates of Vienna is the Infidel, the West is the Infidel. When we go into a Muslim country, we are threatened by Islamic leaders, as is the case in Mali. Your side has no hesitation to use violence and force to achieve its ends. We are the cowards. We have not fought as we should have, so out civilization is doomed, unless we get courageous leaders.

I have said all I can say about Breivik. He was one of many young white male mass murderers. Raised in a value-free liberal society, and imbibed with all kinds of literature and political positions, he reacted as a psychotic reacts - with unjustified purely sadistic violence. You seem to be saying that because some of what he read corresponds to the anti-jihad views, that therefore we all agree with him. You are using fallacious reasoning. Some of what Mussolini did was good for his country, but that doesn't mean I condone Mussolini.

The events in Benghazi demonstate that the Islamists are brutal and that we are chumps. Your reasoning is unacceptable at this website. Please do not continue to accuse me of being anything other than a traditionalist blogger concerned about the fate of Western Civilization.
